The Long Island Heritage Trail, formerly Kings Highway and known as the Washington Spy Trail, originated in the 1700s . The trail encompasses the entire Route 25A corridor which stretches along the island’s Gold Coast and is a major part of Long Island’s history including its role in Prohibition during the Roaring 20s.
